Time to cast your vote at Crompton Place
The General Election isn’t the only thing the people of Bolton are going to be able to vote for this Spring, as Crompton Place Shopping Centre is searching for its newest Charity of the Year – and the power is with the people.
Following on from a hugely successful 12 months supporting Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme (BYPHS), the centre is on the hunt for a new deserving charity to be able to help with fundraising, provide a location to engage with locals, and more.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our shoppers to tell us who they think we should be getting behind this year,” said Crompton Place Centre Manager, Paula Wood. “We’ve had a great year with BYPHS with a range of activity taking place in the centre, including a ‘coast to coast’ spinathon, ‘tuckshop’ during our pop-up cinema and much more.
“We know that there are plenty of deserving charities that could do with some much-needed support and we’re asking the public to tell us who they think we should be backing and why.”
From Friday 5 May, a ‘ballot box’ will be in the centre where shoppers can drop in their nomination with a little explanation of why the centre should choose that charity. Voting will be running until Friday 26 May and the selected charity will be announced in early June.
“Last year we had a fantastic response on our social media pages and this time around we’ve taken inspiration from the General Election and we’re asking people to cast their votes in person,” added Paula. “I’m looking forward to reading the nominations.”
