2020 has been a difficult year for many, but especially for women, families, children and young people affected by domestic abuse and violence (DAV)

Christmas is usually a time of joy and celebrating, but for some families it’s just not as straight forward as that.

Fortalice do an amazing job providing refuge accommodation, support and frontline services for victims of DAV and gives hope to families in Bolton to help them through the darkest of times.

Crompton Place want to contribute to the outstanding service they provide and we’re relying on the help of our shoppers.

We are asking that when you are out doing your Christmas shopping, that you buy an extra gift and simply post it in Santa’s Post Room (opposite Beaverbrooks).

These gifts will then be collected, wrapped and distributed to those in need.

Paula Wood, Centre Manager, said “We would usually try and provide some activities for families over Christmas but unfortunately it isn’t possible this year due to COVID-19.

“So we decided we wanted to give to families in Bolton in another way to try and raise people’s spirits again.

“We chose Fortalice as we have worked with them for many years and it is a charity that we hold close to our hearts.”

Gill Smallwood, Chief Executive of Fortalice, said “Christmas is a difficult time of year for our families and we are extremely grateful to Crompton Place for setting up this gift appeal.

“These wonderful acts of kindness really will mean the world to many families across Bolton and we would just like to say a huge thank you on their behalf.”

Santa’s Post Room will be open for gifts from Friday 4th December until Friday 18th December.

Monday – Saturday - 8.30am – 8pm

Sunday - 11am – 5pm
