Ironman UK Night Run open for entries

One of Bolton’s best loved athletics events is coming back this summer and is already open for registrations.

The Ironman UK Night Run will be returning to Bolton on July 1 and is inviting families from across the borough to take part in the five-kilometre race.

It will give participants the chance to run down the renowned Ironman red carpet while also enjoying specially arranged musical entertainments.

A statement from Bolton Council said: “Fancy running down the Ironman red carpet?

“Night Run is back in Bolton on July 1 with a family-friendly 5k race you don’t want to miss!

Participants will enjoy musical entertainment across the course, food and drink vendors, and an epic festival finish in Victoria Square.

“The event is open to anyone over the age of 16, and participants will receive a runner t-shirt and finisher medal.”

This follows on from the return of Ironman last year, one of Bolton most well-loved athletics events that is well known across the region.

The council hopes that events like the night run will help to foster greater local interest in athletics, particularly where family groups and children are concerned.

Registering costs £12 for individuals.
